Burnout at Work: Addressing Mental Health Barriers in the Workplace
Part of the Work Without Barriers event series for NDEAM 2025

October 9th, 2025, 1:00PM EST.

Burnout is on the rise. Nearly half of Canadian employees (47%) say they’re experiencing it and more than 30% report it’s getting worse each year (Robert Half, 2025). For businesses, that means lost productivity, higher turnover, and increased costs.

As part of National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) 2025: Work Without Barriers Series, this session will explore how mental health challenges, including burnout, can limit participation at work and what leaders can do to address those barriers.

What you’ll learn:

  • How to recognize early signs of burnout and other mental health challenges in employees and teams
  • Strategies to respond with empathy while respecting privacy and individual needs
  • Inclusive practices that reduce stigma and foster workplaces where employees feel valued and supported

Our Speaker: Melanie McGregor, CMHA Halton
