Building A Workforce Without Barriers: An ODEN Information Session
Part of the Work Without Barriers event series for NDEAM 2025
October 2nd, 2025, 1:00PM EST.
Ontario businesses continue to face challenges finding qualified talent. The 2025 Ontario Economic Report by the Ontario Chamber of Commerce shared that one-third of organizations (33%) still report labour shortages.
The main causes? A lack of skilled workers (58%), difficulty attracting and retaining talent (56%), and retiring experienced employees (42%).
These numbers highlight a major opportunity: diversifying recruitment and investing in new talent pools. More than 850,000 Canadians who have a disability are ready and willing to work yet remain unemployed.
That’s where ODEN can help. We support businesses to access untapped talent through tailored training, resources, and a strong network of Employment Service Providers across Ontario.
In this session, you’ll learn how ODEN can help your business:
- Navigate ongoing labour shortages by engaging with the disability talent pool
- Strengthen your recruitment and retention strategies through disability inclusion efforts
- Access training, resources, and membership benefits designed for employers
- Build a resilient workplace culture where all employees can succeed
